Description
The Copper John was developed in the 1990’s and is a very popular modern fly pattern. Even though it does not resemble any specific aquatic insect, this pattern imitates several subsurface insects and is heavy enough to get down under water quickly. Tied with copper lead wire, goose biots, and peacock herl, this fly is useful in many conditions and seasons. Popular Sizes for this pattern are 16, 18, 20, 22.
